This program started during the pandemic with teams in Europe and they were so happy with the result that we were contacted by the headquarter in the United States and we did then run that programme for Paypal Worldwide. MLC did win an award in the category “Learning and Development” for that programme.

The pandemic has revealed a challenge

Due to the pandemic Paypal decided to close down its office worldwide overnight. As all employees had to work from home, Paypal was looking for a training programme that would help them remain positive and provide them with the tools to take care of their mental wellbeing and manage their anxiety in this difficult situation

How we supported PayPal Worldwide

Duration

The resilience program lasted 8 consecutive weeks, with each week featuring a 30-minute session.

Content

A different theme was covered each week ranging from the definition of resilience, to understanding optimism, identifying how to apply it, working on anxiety, identifying its own distorted thoughts (“Mind Monsters”) and how to tame them and building a personal action plan.

Languages

The programme is designed to be accessible to both English and French-speaking participants. It is limited to a maximum of 15 participants, which encourages an interactive and personalised environment. Each weekly session lasts 60 minutes

How did we proceed?

There was homework to do between each session. Employees were sent a learning journal so that they could take notes and define their personal action plan. Managers had a specific learning journal with two sections : one where they could also define their personal action plan and the other where they had to define how to increase the resilience among their teams. There were also team challenges to keep motivation high during the 8 weeks
